U2 "These Georgians Are Crazy!" Philips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, 2005-11-18 Taper: Steve Hendrix, Mastering: Jason Engel Location: Lower level, Edge's side, near the tip of the Elipse. Source/Lineage: Audio Technica Lavalier Mics > Sony M-1 > DAT master > Sony 600 > Optical cable > Pioneer stand-alone CD burner > CDR master > EAC secure (WAV) > Soundforge 8 (edits) > CD Wave (tracking) > Trader's Little Helper (FLAC) Recording Info: Mics set to flat response instead of bass roll-off. DAT set to minus 20dbs in EP mode. Mastering Info: - Each master CD contained one half of the concert as a single track, used EAC in secure mode to pull WAV files off the CDs. - Joined the two WAV files into one (required some splicing as there was overlap, you won't notice where). - Removed silence at start and end of WAV file, fade-in start, fade-out end. - Corrected a click in Elevation and one in Sunday Bloody Sunday. I spent several days repeatedly working on this trying to boost the volume while avoiding clipping or compression, thinking that would improve it. However, in the end I decided all you need to do is turn up the volume on the player; it sounds great once you crank it up a bit. With all due respect, unlike the Mihn source of this concert, this one is complete, including the Human Rights Thingy and the entire Pride. The audience behaves themselves for the most part, instruments are all clear and well represented, as are the vocals.
